Who are the Pet Industry Federation (PIF)?

PIF are the UK’s largest pet trade association which represents pet businesses in the UK. On joining PIF, our members sign up to our Charter which sets out how we expect our members to operate. Each service advertised on this site has a code of conduct that you can expect to receive from our members.

How do I sign up?

Listings on My Pet People are exclusive to existing members of the Pet Industry Federation (PIF). If you wish to be listed on mypetpeople.co.uk then you will need to join PIF, more details about this can be found clicking here.

How does My Pet People work?

Through an intuitive search facility, pet owners can search for the service they require using the navigation tools at the top of the website. Once a service is picked a list of trusted PIF members will appear and you can use can use the locator tool on the left to find the area you need.

How do I search for someone in my area?

On the top navigation bar of the website, click on ‘Locate a pet specialist’. Once this loads, a search bar will appear on the left hand side of the page whereby you can choose the service and location you require.

How do I contact a member?

Once you have chosen the member you wish to book with, go into their profile and click on ‘Contact business’ this will bring up a form which will be emailed straight to them. Alternatively most members’ profiles will feature a telephone number which they can be contacted on during business hours.

Contacting a PIF Member?

Once you have contacted the business through the ‘Contact business’ form, they will endeavour to respond to you ASAP. Alternatively the PIF member can be confirmed via the telephone number provided in the member profile.

How do I become a PIF member?

How much are the services to use?

Our members set their own rates for the services they offer so it is best to contact them directly to confirm pricing structures.

How and when do I pay?

Depending on the member and type of business services, payment will either be taken in advance or directly after the use of the services. This will need to be confirmed directly with the member at the time of booking.

Who gets to be listed on the website?

Existing Pet Industry Federation members who offer the services stated on the website.

How do I report a member?

Sadly sometimes things don’t go to plan, and we would like to take the time to directly get in contact with our members to ensure they are offering the service level required and expected as a PIF member. Is My Pet People free to use?

Yes the website is free to use, but you pay for the services you use once booked with a member.

How do I complete my profile?

As an existing member your profile should be featured on the website already. To make any amends to this please ring the office on 01234 273933 between the hours of 8.30am-5pm Monday-Friday. Alternatively you can fill out the ‘Contact form’ on the ‘Contact us’ page.
